Feature Friday: A Few of My Favorite Things

It’s Friiiiiiiiiidaaaaaaaayyy!

Now, most of you will probably just assume that I’m this excited because, well, who doesn’t love Friday?

But, while I’m never opposed to joining in on the TGIF chant, today is an especially good Friday for me for one reason only:

After traveling almost constantly since October, my husband finally comes home to stay for quite a long while.  I can’t wait to wind my arms around his neck and feel his (amazingly soft) beard against my cheek.

Aaaah.

Excuse me a moment while I just bask in the glow of the thought.

Ahem.

Some of you are going to head for the door if I keep going with this sappy, lovey-dovey stuff, so I’ll move on.

Last week, The Nester encouraged her readers to write up a post about some of their favorite things under $30, so I thought it might be fun to share my list with you guys today:

Of course, then I started thinking about my favorite things and realized that I’m not a brand-specific sort (i.e. favorite soap, drink, shoe, perfume, etc.), so making this list proved harder than I expected.

It was tough, but I managed somehow (wipes brow in relief), and here it is:

1. I love slightly offbeat, wordy girl-singers, so I really dig albums from any of the following artists:

Feist,

Imogen Heap

Sara Groves

J.J. Heller

Sam Phillips

Nicole Nordeman

Sara Bareilles

2. I love nail polish, and nothing says Christmas like a little sparkle, so this glitter set from Sephora would be perfect right about now.

3. I love games that I can play with my kids without wanting to gnaw my own foot off after five minutes, and I am IN love with Uno Moo!

4. I love old musicals, so this Best Picture Oscar Collection of Musicals would be just grand.

5. I LOVE hot chocolate and I love Anthro (even though I never shop there), so I’m thinking a combo of the perfect cup of Ho-Cho (searing hot and rich, but not so chocolatey it tastes like you’re glugging Hershey’s syrup straight from the bottle, with a mound of whipped cream through which to sip it) in one of these stunners (oh, good grief…one of each, please!) would be just the thing:

6. I love pretty journals/organizers,and I think this one:

and this one:

are both super-droolworthy.

7. I love practically any shade of blue-green (as I have amply proven), and I love this rosette quilt, even though it’s so ubiquitous, and I tend to shy away from things lots of other people like.

I can’t help myself.

Aqua + rosettes = *sigh.*

(I realize that $30 wouldn’t even buy me a sham from this bedding set, but it really is one of my favorite things, so I had to throw it in there!).

And there you have it, folks! Just a few of my favorite things.  And yes, I realize that this reads like a public Christmas wish list, but The Nester made me do it! Pinky promise. (I’m linking up with her favorite things party, by the way).

Y’all have a great weekend, now, ya hear (sorry, still haven’t shaken off the redneck mood I got in to make my duct tape wreath yesterday).

I KNOW I will. : )

  9. You know you can make that bedding for around $30. I did, and although it was time consuming, it was TOTALLY worth it in the end. Kojo Designs has the tutorial.
