I’ve been making a “giving suggestion” each day as part of my participation in:

Giving Suggestion #8 is: Provide Thanksgiving dinner for someone in need. This might mean inviting him/her/them over to your own feast or taking the feast to them. Either way, the joy you’ll experience from helping someone else participate in the act of eating so much good food that it hurts will no doubt be payment enough.

The theme for this week’s:

five days five ways | 5 Things Thursday

…is:

Reader’s Choice

and today I’m choosing:

Thankfulness

I would love it if you would link up (or leave comments about) 5 thankfulness-related thoughts on your mind, but if you’d rather just link up 5 pieces of randomness or a different theme, I’m totally fine with that as well.

The “rules”:

  • Please link up to your specific “5 Things” post rather than your blog’s homepage, and

  • Please place the Five Things Thursday button (left sidebar) somewhere on your page or post so that others can join in the fun.

That’s it!

Happy list-making! : )

Okay, so I know that “thankfulness” is not exactly an original topic for this time of year (I just saw a FB post from a friend that said something like, “I’m thankful, okay? Now, get off my back!” : )).

But I haven’t personally participated in a “thankful list” yet, and Thanksgiving is fast approaching, so here goes!

1. I’m thankful for this sweet man:

IMG_8003I’ve seen far less of him this month than I would have liked, but I love what an amazing provider he is and that, no matter how crazy/busy/stressful his work trips get, he still calls me every morning and every night to start and end my day right (yep, that did rhyme, thank you very much).

2. I’m thankful that I get to participate in Gresham Barn Sale’s Christmas in the Country handmade event and hopefully raise some more money for:

five days five ways | because every day is different

I’m also thankful that I managed to get everything I needed to done just in time, and I’m EVEN thankful for the torrential downpour that started the second I got out of the van to take my loads of supplies into the barn (I’m more thankful now that I’m dry than I was when it was happening, I must admit).

Here’s a sneak peak of my table (you’ll be seeing more tomorrow!):

3. I’m thankful for:

Jodi of Vintage and Co.

Nicole of Miss Mommy

Alina of My Yellow Umbrella

Alicia of WontonMommy

Elyssa of Dew Dropz Jewelry

Christina of The Olive Tree

Michelle of Our Wonderfilled Life

Amanda of Royal Daughter Designs and Daes of Our Lives

Kelli of More Bang for Your Bucks

Mandy of Biblical Homemaking

Sarah of Redhead in Ruffled Flats

Cat of Stuff I Love

Alison of Stuff and Nonsense

Molly at Vintage Velda

…and anyone else who has taken the time to either have me by for a visit to talk about our PCM fundraiser or has posted on their own about it.  I’m so grateful to all of my readers for supporting a cause that’s dear to my heart but worthy of others’ notice as well!

P.S. I did my absolute best to track down the emails/details of everyone I’ve posted for, but if I’ve somehow left you off the list, PLEASE forgive me and shoot me an email so I can add you!

4. I’m thankful for $1,300 ($2,600 matched!!) raised so far to help build that classroom for PCM (that number includes donations, Shop My Closet, and Super Night with Super Mom).

I know I promised you an update yesterday on our $$ raised to date, but I thought I would include it here instead since it seemed fitting.

And today is only November 17th! So that means that we have almost half the month—plus the proceeds from the barn sale, Shop My Shoes moolah, and maybe even a few other little odds and ends I have up my sleeve—to go!

Absolutely awesome!

Oh, here’s a quick peak at some of the updates I’ve made to the prize packages. More goodies, more gift certificates, MORE to win! Go check it out!

5.   I’m thankful for this sweetness:

…who will be ONE-YEAR-OLD (ack!) in 4 days and who manages to lift my spirits every time she smiles…which, I realize, she’s not doing in this picture. (And I know I’ve said similar things about her several times before, but if you’re truly thankful for something, why not say it again?)

Whatchoo got? Linky, linky…

P.S. This month has been one of those hang-onto-the-rails-and-try-not-to-fall-off-the-cart type of months, but very soon, I plan to begin featuring my favorite links from our linky party and highlighting the blogger who submitted them, so bring your “A game,” folks! ; )
